In order to maintain a high level of quality and uniform consistency, each project can be broken down into the following work phases:
Modifications may be indicated when retrofitting existing conditions during project.
Work Phase 1: PRELIMINARY PROJECT ANALYSIS
Feasibility, assessment, and reliability studies (Vulnerability Assessment & Risk Analysis)
Development of basic design criteria (Requirements Documentation)
Preparation of systems procurement and installation budget estimates
Development of applicable management presentations
Work Phase 2: TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Development of conceptual flow charts and block diagrams
Evaluation of prospective vendors/manufacturers invited to prepare bid proposals
Technical specifications prepared in bid form
Work Phase 3: TECHNICAL BID ANALYSIS
Complete technical analysis of submitted bids
Comparison of bids to pre-established procurement and installation budget estimates
Written recommendations for purchase
Work Phase 4: CONCEPTUAL DESIGN SKETCHES AND SCHEMATICS
Development of conceptual design sketches and schematics, single-line diagrams, flow charts, equipment configurations and room layouts for the installation of equipment and ancillary items.
Work Phase 5: INTEGRATION OF SYSTEMS AND DISCIPLINES
Coordination with the architect/engineer/owner for integrated systems development and proper coordination activities relevant to other building systems, schedules, and construction activities.
Review, critique, and evaluate vendor submissions and shop drawings.
Work Phase 6: PRE-INSTALLATION SYSTEMS TESTING
Evaluation of applicable vendor submitted systems pre-installation test procedures.
Technical coordination assistance for systems and component pre-installation testing at the factory.
Work Phase 7: SYSTEMS INSTALLATION PROGRESS REVIEW
Site visits to monitor and review systems installation activities.
Technical assistance in the "on-the-spot" problem solving as required.
Work Phase 8: SYSTEM COMPLETION, CLIENT TURN-OVER, AND PROJECT CLOSE OUT
Evaluate vendor submitted training procedures and documentation.
Actively participate in the training of a theoretical understanding of the specified and installed systems.
Evaluate vendor submitted operations manuals and assist in the integration of these into related building system operation manuals.
Review "As-Built" system design and installation drawings and documentation for accuracy prior of these being passed on to the owner.
